Thermos Smart Lid App Reviews

Works great

I have this synced with my FitBit. Works flawlessly for me. Have had it over two months now.

Alerts only in app

Plain and simple as that. The alerts dont pop up unless the app is open. Thats the main reason I purchased this bottle over other options. Definitely disappointed!!

Love the water bottle and concept. App needs some work.

I have a lot of the same complaints as Ive seen others stating. 1. I would like to see a manual entry for any fluids consumed outside of the bottle. 2. My app is synced with my FitBit, but the information carried over is not even close to accurate. I ended yesterday with 109 oz, and my FitBit app is showing 190. Otherwise, I think the lack of push notifications is a problem. I can see where expecting a product to come in handy for one particular thing and having it totally fail would be frustrating. Overall I love this product! Great concept... Just needs some tweaking.

Useless

Useless...No smart reminders to drink. No sync with fitbit. And now is seems not to sync even with the bottle. Money wasted, just buy a normal bottle, is the same thing.

Needs some bugs fixed

The water bottle is totally dependent on this app. It works reasonably well to begin with, but as you get into it, youll notice some quirky behaviors. The most annoying bug is that the count in minutes of how old the water is no longer resets to zero after using the app for a couple months. It says my water is 67453 minutes old even after a fresh refill. Yes, Ive even reset the bottle and recalibrated it. The only option is to completely uninstall the app, but then you lose all your history. Please fix!

Worked as Designed (for a few weeks)

Disappointing, costly purchase. Bought it to sync automatically with Fitbit, now it only syncs with its own app. As previous reviewer stated, reminders are no good if I have to open app to see it. Now just another over price water bottle I use.

This app is a dream come true they are amazing

I bought this water bottle to carry with me on my daily routines and overall have been pleased with it Positives are it has 24 oz capacity and sturdy, unbreakable construction. Lastly the bottle is very easy to clean. The app it wonderful cant go wrong with Thermos

Syncing with fitbit is broken

Syncing with Fitbit stopped working in the new version!

Consume oz not working after firmware update.

Was working fine now after update not working for me . Please fix

Enjoying so far but needs some tweaks

UPDATE 07/21/16 - This stopped syncing with my FitBit app months ago and customer service has done nothing to help. They sent a new lid but that is obviously not the problem. Considering they now sell this waterbottle with the FitBit items at Target, youd think theyd invest more resources into fixing this problem. Major FAIL. Im really enjoying this bottle so far and the app is simple and easy to use but there are a few tweaks needed. 1) Realtime updates into FitBit. The whole point of Fitbit is live monitoring so it doesnt make sense it only syncs after you have drunk an entire bottle. 2) I noticed that if I decide to fill the bottle if I havent finished all the water, it thinks I drank more than I have. This is a HUGE problem as many people prefer to be able to fill their bottle whenever they have access to water, not wait till its empty.

Worked until update.

After the update the bottle does not sync correctly no matter what I do. Even if it does sync to the thermos app, it will no longer sync with my Fitbit app. I have tried everything from not allowing access to my Fitbit app, to uninstalling the thermos app and restarting the bottle. Spending $60 to have something tracked and synced to your other health apps is kind of dumb. But spending $60 on a plastic water bottle is insanity.

Extreme disappointment

Either the lid, the app, or both are junk. The consumption records correctly for 2 or 3 weeks and then does so only sporadically or not at all. The latest version said it was to allow it to keep syncing with FitBit, but that went from sporadic to never. The app says theres a firmware upgrade but is incapable of actually reprogramming the lid. I have replaced the lid and the second is quite nearly as bad at the first. Left a message for Thermos to call me (as directed) and 3 weeks later theyve still not. This is a great concept, and Ive found nothing quite like it on the market, but the implementation is just a failure.

Needs Health integration and manual entry capability

Having tried (and returned) the Vessyl Prime, I thought I’d try the Thermos Smart Lid as an alternative. While the app is OK, it is missing two things Vessyl’s app has: the ability to manually add water you’ve consumed outside of the Smart Lid, and any linking of data to Apple Health. The second feature is nice to have, but the first is critical, since it’s virtually impossible to drink all of your water out of one container all day.

Needs Work!

I bought this water jug 3 months ago to pair with the Fitbit App, which it does for 2 to 3 weeks? It just stops working? Ive tried all of the trouble shooting tips to no avail, the thermos app must be deleted and reinstalled for it to work again. You lose all historical data in the process. It isnt very accurate either, it over & under reads the amount of water I drink, this is in the app itself, Id wait on getting this expensive water jug if you plan on using Fitbit until a firmware or version that works is released.

Not worth the cost

I love the thought of this lid. At first it worked great, now it wont sync. I have tried calibration, factory restart and device sleep. It will sync for one day and then I have to start the process over. I want my money back, not worth it!

Works well with iPhone

I am finding this to work pretty well with the iPhone. A lot of the reviews mention problems with FitBits. I dont have a Fitbit so I cant speak to that use case. The updates from the Smart Lid do come in real time to the iPhone. Or, if the application is not up, when it next is. It would be good to have them always go to the app in order to timely support reminders. The reminders are an area for improvement as they do not seem to work at all. They also cry out to use push notifications. An option to add water consumption would be nice (to record the 6 ounces of water consumed in the restaurant). It would also be very helpful to support integration into the Apple Health app. Knowing what I know now would I still buy the Smart Lid? Yes. It has made a major improvement in my water consumption. The automatic recording of consumption is wonderful. That said, with the needed improvements mentioned this will be 5-star.

Love the concept - Doesnt sync with Fitbit

Everything works as described, but after trying everything I cannot get it to sync with my Fitbit. I am an early adopter, so hope I will see an update from either app/provider that fixes this issue. Outside of this, it is pretty awesome and works very well!

Very Nice!

Works well with Fitbit, once I synced my Fitbit account it automatically updates to my Fitbit dashboard. I was surprised that it told me what my drink temperature is.

Fail

Cant login to my Fitbit account through the mobile app :(
